- 1 cup margarine, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups oats (quick or old-fashioned)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup raisins
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cream margarine, sugars, wheat germ, and eggs. Add flour, oats, soda, salt, and spices. Blend well.
- Mix in nuts and raisins.
- Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake about 10 to 12 minutes.
(Granny’s Note: Or you can leave out cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins, and add 1 cup of chocolate chips.)
