- 1-1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound mild bulk sausage
- 3 medium sweet onions, roughly chopped
- 1 bunch (about 1 cup) green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cans light kidney beans (no salt added)
- 2 cans dark kidney beans (no salt added)
- 6 cans diced tomatoes (no salt added)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 4 tablespoons chili seasoning mix
- 1 tablespoon and 1-1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
Directions:
- Combine 1/2 can light kidney beans, 1/2 can dark kidney beans, and 2 cans of tomatoes in blender. Blend until smooth, and set aside.
- In a large non-stick pot over medium-high heat, add oil, sweet onions, ground beef, sausage, and 1-1/2 teaspoons salt. Cook until beef and sausage are done. Do not drain.
- Reduce to medium-low heat. Add all remaining ingredients. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beans have softened and tomatoes have broken down.
