Corn Chowder

  • 1 tablespoon butter (or margarine)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
  • 1 can (2 cups) creamed corn
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • Bacon bits (or crisp bacon)


  1. Melt butter, saute onions until tender.
  2. Add potatoes and water.
  3. Cover and simmer 20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  4. Stir in milk, corn, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat until heated through.
  5. Sprinkle each serving with bacon bits or bacon.
