Salmon Loaf

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 slices bread, torn into pieces
  • 15.5 oz can salmon, drained and flaked (Yep, had to look “flaked” up. For practical purposes, this appears to mean cook it and shred it.)
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika


  1. (Preheat oven to 350 F)
  2. Mix butter, milk, and bread.
  3. Stir in salmon, egg yolks, lemon juice, onion, salt, and pepper.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into salmon mixture.
  5. Pour into a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish; sprinkle with paprika.
  6. Cook, uncovered, at 350 F for 1 hour.
